Every skater is different and every goal is different. Three training formats meet you where you are and take you where you want to go.
Private · Semi-Private · GroupWhether your athlete needs the focus of one-on-one coaching, the accountability of a small group, or something in between, Sawkins Elite has a format built for that goal. Every program delivers Jessica's Hybrid Coach methodology: championship figure skating technique applied to the demands of real hockey.
The most direct path to rapid, measurable improvement. Every minute on the ice goes to one skater and one set of goals.
The sweet spot between private intensity and group energy. Personal coaching while learning alongside a peer at a similar level.
A high-energy, structured environment where skaters push each other. At 1:5, every athlete still gets meaningful attention.
Tap through to see how a real session runs.
You arrive and Jessica has already reviewed your last session and built a focused plan. Every drill is chosen with your mechanics in mind. You'll hear your name constantly: corrections, encouragement, challenges. No waiting, no watching. Sessions usually open with an edge and stride assessment, move into targeted drill work, and close with game-situation application so the technique transfers right away.
Two or three skaters, one coach, one shared mission. Jessica rotates her full attention between athletes, coaching each one while the others work. You'll be challenged to copy what your partner does right and fix what they do wrong. That dual perspective speeds up learning in a way solo training can't match.
A structured, drill-based session with up to five skaters in a designed rotation. Jessica circulates constantly, giving individual corrections and group feedback. Sessions build around progressive drill sequences, each exercise layering onto the last, so the whole group improves together. The competitive energy pushes every skater harder than they would push alone.
Whatever the format, every Sawkins Elite session rests on the same idea: technically precise, hockey-applicable skating development. Every drill has a purpose. Every correction is explained. Every skater leaves understanding exactly what they're working on and why, because development that sticks needs understanding, not just repetition.
Whichever format you choose, you get a coach who has stood on the national podium, competed internationally for Canada, and played university hockey, and who brings that entire competitive lifetime to every session. The format changes. The standard never does.
